Arantxa and sweet b.f Eli (now a bay area resident - lucky man)

Yep - another first - today Charlie had his first blow out. We haven't had much diaper difficulty and today's event was somewhat unexpected. My girlfriends Lisa and Arantxa (Spanish Soul Sistah) came to visit today (both are teachers at LAHS) and I was so excited/relieved to have good company. I've been feeling really isolated and was so happy to see them. When they arrived I was still trying to get myself together so I handed Charlie off to Lisa. It was Lisa's first visit since Charlie's birth and she has experience with kids so I wasn't worried as I walked to the back of the condo to get my things together. I heard explosions of laughter and wondered to myself what Charlie must be doing to entertain the girls. I came out to find the girls huddled in the kitchen trying to "catch" the leaking material from Charlie's diaper which was also on Lisa's skirt and our carpet. Poor Charlie had been fussy but not that bad! Poor Lisa - and on her first visit! It's tough enough seeing friends and then Charlie goes and poops on them...thanks bud. Once I got Charlie on the changing table the girls and I were jabbering away and Charlie started to smile continuously like "ha ha I shit on you". As if I didn't already have my hands full :-)
I was hoping to have more photos from this afternoon as I thought we would stroll down to the local farmer's market but like so many things in my life these days we got downtown to find the market was not going on. Oh Pues. So we grabbed some coffees and talked the way fiercely intelligent women do when we're together. It's a place I can't really describe but it feels like home to be with the women who know your heart and share your life's passions. Having great company is a double edged sword because it fills your heart but then there is the inevitable exit which since 9/2/08 leaves me in tears.
L and SSS I love you like my own family and my cup runneth over when I am with you.

Oh my God...Charlie's poop explosion was the funniest thing I've seen in weeks! It was great seeing you and I just want you to know Lisa and I will be coming to visit you MUCH more frequently! Hopefully each visit will contain less and less poop.
